I have written three books that are for anyone
that’s looking for purpose and meaning in their lives;
anyone looking for some kind of order that will give them
peace and hope in a chaotic world.
If your life is NOT going as you had hoped
when you were 10 years old
Maybe it’s time to take a fresh new look at some old ideas.
Book 1 answers 12 of life’s most important questions.
Book 2 is about science
and how God has revealed
Himself in the cosmos.
Book 3 builds a beautiful bridge to link modern science
with ancient Christianity.
How can these books help you have a better life?
They will help you find peace and hope in our chaotic world.
A restoration of your soul.
They will help you learn how to share this peace and hope with those you love.

Who Am I?
I was born in the middle of World War II, in a very small mid-western town. My parents were born before World War I and survived the great depression by working hard from before sunup to after sundown. I learned to live the same way. It seemed normal to me and I wouldn’t trade the life I have lived with anyone. NOT that I wouldn’t do some things differently if I had a chance at a do-over.
But then, I would just make a different set of mistakes!
There were 50 kids in my high school graduating class and I was closer to the bottom than the top. My primary interests were airplanes, cars, and girls; studying was NOT on my list. It would take another 15 years or so for me to realize the importance of such things as science, history, English, and the Creator of it all.
After barely making it through college I had the honor of spending 10 years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps fighting a war in Vietnam. I actually believed that the Vietnamese people needed our help in attaining the freedom that we only take for granted. Politics were way above my pay grade. But that’s another story.
After the war ended, I left the Marine Corps behind and finally achieved my goal of flying as a commercial pilot; first as the chief pilot for a major aerospace company and then as an international charter pilot for a large aircraft management company. Those were 30 of the best years of my life. For much of that time, I had a dream job flying some of the richest and most famous people in the world throughout the United States…and Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, the West Indies, many of the islands in the Pacific down to Tahiti and New Zealand, Japan, all over Europe, and the Middle East. In my books, I share some of the photographs I took at those places, a few personal experiences, and drop a name or two of the many Hollywood people, royalty, and a popular president that I flew.
After that, I spent three years trying to retire but just couldn’t get my parent-induced work ethic to take a break. So, for eleven years I was blessed to be able to work with a group of very young and very smart engineers and pilots writing the pilot’s manuals for a new, large, jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle, or drones as they are known by the media.
All of my travels and life experiences have given me many opportunities to think about things, study things and people, and write. So hopefully you can learn something from what I learned mostly the hard way.
Finally, let’s get a few things straight!
I am not your judge. I am just a fellow pilgrim. And if God is NOT a forgiving God, then I am in very big trouble.
I don’t have all the answers. But I hope my books will add a few of the missing pieces to your puzzle called life.
The answers I do have may NOT always be what you want to hear. But they are far better than any of the alternatives that I know of.
If you like what you see don’t thank me, I’m just the messenger. God is the one we should thank. If you didn’t like what you see, please let me know so I can make whatever corrections are necessary. Like you, I’m just a student.
Please let me know what you think by emailing me at mimqed@gmail.com.
Do NOT write anything that you would NOT want to have quoted. If I do quote from your email, I will only use your initials.
Friends I believe that life is all about learning to deal with suffering, forgiveness, and love. All religions, including atheism which is also a faith-based system, are a means of learning to deal with suffering, forgiveness, and love. I hope to show you in my three books that Christianity is NOT just the best system for dealing with these things, it’s the only viable system that has the answers for all of life’s most important questions.
Bottom line: If there is anything at all in this universe, then there must be a God. And if there is a God, then God must be the most important thing in all the universe. So, shouldn’t pleasing God be the most important thing in our lives?
If your life just seems to be one painful, frustrating, and confusing event after another could that be God trying to get your attention? Like a loving parent, Jesus says to all, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
The God of the Christian Bible “. . .is not a God of confusion but of peace.”
Why?
I hope you are asking yourself, “Why were these images used on the home page?”
When I went looking for images for the home page my first requirement was that they must stand alone as beautiful, colorful, warm, and representative of peace, tranquility, and equanimity. I might add that except for the first photo that is from Shutterstock and the last photograph that I took myself, all the other images are from Unsplash.
I selected these images before I really knew for sure why; just because they were beautiful to me. They immediately reminded me of the color, the warmth, and the good memories that I have of the many days and nights I spent in Paris and Nice France while flying around the world. But as I thought more about it, I soon realized what drew me to each of these images.
The Café de Flore is a typical Parisian sidewalk café in appearance at least. It was opened in 1885 and quickly became a popular gathering place for young artists, writers, and thinkers of all kinds. During the height of the existential philosophy movement in the 20th century, it’s where people like Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus hung out. For over a century it’s been one of the places in Paris where the intelligentsia meets to exchange new ideas. Hence, the caption, “Maybe it’s time to take a fresh new look at some old ideas.”
The Louvre started as a palace for the French monarchs and became the largest art museum in the world with colorful, peaceful gardens added just for the beauty of it. It contains a wonderful history of how our ancestors answered life’s most important questions in the past and challenges all of us to face the same questions in our lives today. Like the Louvre, book 1 gently and graciously suggests what those answers are.
Gustave Eiffel’s tower is a classic example of art and architecture merging gracefully together. Like the answers to many of life’s important questions the Eiffel tower was despised and totally rejected by many at first. But in time, one by one, everyone began to see its intrinsic beauty. Today, the Eiffel tower is the number one tourist attraction in the world.
Book 2 is filled with photos of God’s artwork and could easily be called the Louvre of the heavens. Book 2 concludes with the realization that the first and greatest argument available to all humankind for the existence of God is clearly seen in the night sky.
As Einstein so famously said, “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
The Pont Alexandre III bridge speaks for itself. The Pont Alexandre III bridge was built in the 19th century when bridges were more than just something to span a body of moving water. This bridge represented the hopes for peace at that time between two great nations, France and Russia. Like the Eiffel tower, this bridge is a masterful merger of art and engineering. The Holy Grail of science is to find the Theory of Everything. I believe that can only be achieved when we “build a beautiful bridge to link modern science with ancient Christianity” for all the people of the world.
Which is the purpose of book 3.
This photo of Nice was taken along the alluring Cote D’Azur (French Riviera) with the hotel Le Meridien to the right in this photo. It brings back memories of my nights in this hotel. As the Meridien provided rest and peace for me after a long journey, I hope my trilogy will bring rest, peace, and hope for you, for now, and forever.
The last photo I took myself while on one of my trips to Nice.
It was just another day in paradise when I snapped this photo of two young children mesmerized by two living statues not far from my hotel. It’s NOT too hard to imagine that these children must be thinking, “Who are you? By now you must be thinking, “Who am I?” to be writing about these things.
